Our track record speaks for itself, and it falls into two types.
First, there is our public face--what you've seen and heard about:
- We were the Time Magazine Coolest Blogger of the Year
- Featured and Profiled in the New York Times, Boston Globe, most major American newspapers
- Interviewed and profiled on CNN and Fox
- Made the 'coolest site of the day'/'featured site of the day' lists for every major feature from CNN to Yahoo.
- Our books have been published by Penguin.
Secondly, there is our marketing track record. We've taken our magic and applied it elsewhere with astonishing results. Read about it yourself.
The Marketing Scientist exists because it isn't our job; it's our calling. We didn't study it in school--we figured it out on our own. It's a passion that began with the hobby and intellectual exercise of modeling people's minds, and turned into an obsession and now, a profession.
It's a way of life: measuring, testing, learning. We will be around 11 years from now for the same reason we were around 11 years ago: because we love what we do -- and, of course, we make good money for our clients so they keep on coming back.
The Marketing Scientist, in other words, began with a passionate group of friends -- the way everything great has begun. We would say things like, "Lets say one thing to these 20 girls, and then this other thing to another 20, and see which one responds better." We would challenge ourselves to come up with funny things to say, and then we would go out there and test it in the real world. We ended up picking up a lot of girls and - for fun - we started doing the same sort of tests on the Internet. Yes, we had our start in statistically modeling how to write the perfect personal ad. We used science and art to craft figure out how to convince people to get excited about our, err, product: we real marketers, in other words.
Over time, this informal group and self-taught lessons turned into a software infrastructure. People started noticing what we've been doing and coming to us for help. So we grew our shop -- we developed a consulting arm of the company. We now work with clients of all sizes who need a systematic approach towards customer development.
We have a team of crack ninja software developers -- who spend their time
developing our secret sauce software to help make our marketing
magic happen.
For general software development, we work closely with CitrusByte
